Poetry Revisited: Snow by Adelaide Crapsey

Snow

(from Verse: 1915)

Look up…
From bleakening hills
Blows down the light, first breath
Of wintry wind…look up, and scent
The snow!

Adelaide Crapsey (1878-1914)
American poet

  1. We only get snow on the mountain tops around here, but since we have had plentiful rain and colder temperatures we can see snow on the mountains from our front picture window. We can't smell it though!

    1. We use to get a little snow even down here in the city most years. I reckon that we'll get a bigger share this time - they say it's the coldest month of January here in 30 years! And it isn't over, yet.
