I expected more from this novel - perhaps a bit of Goodbye To Berlin, or Mr Norris, but in fact like Anderss I have benefitted from this perspective. It's easy to read, but the detail at times seems a bit excessive and tedious, and there are passages where the conversations between Charley and Lydia don't seem realistic at all (OK, OK it's a novel), and it's surprising that they don't click physically, given her attributes and his quest for fun. The discussions on music, and also on paintings, were actually impressive, and reveal Maugham's cultural erudition and talent - is he just showing off a bit though? I also thought Simon's characterisation was fascinating and plausible: there are plenty of talented but conceited prigs like him about. The ending seemed a bit weak - no reconciliation or resolution for Lydia - but a dose of how the other half lives certainly whacked Charley's naive outlook for six.Robnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-65212567327081735602023-11-20T04:24:48.259+01:002023-11-20T04:24:48.259+01:00Your post on "Winter Wind" by Louisa Law...Your post on "Winter Wind" by Louisa Lawson is a beautiful exploration of literature. Keep it up and keep posting such blogs.
It is seen that most of the students come under anxiety when their exams are near. And sometimes this becomes the reason that students score less grades. They forget all that they learn due to anxiety. This is because most of the parents prefer to take online tuition for class 1 to class 12 for their children that helps their child in clearing all their concepts. This is really important for any student to clear all their doubts in the classroom otherwise those doubts remain unanswered for always.
Basic Components of Computer
Online Shiksha | Online Tuition Classes and Education Tipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08593381299261778509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-39107355925023127732022-12-19T16:51:28.856+01:002022-12-19T16:51:28.856+01:00I agree, I read enough history to know that I woul...I agree, I read enough history to know that I would never want to be a princessAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-85289242920638259992022-12-19T16:51:04.885+01:002022-12-19T16:51:04.885+01:00I came across the book at a flea market somewhere ...I came across the book at a flea market somewhere or a book sale. How did I understand it all those years ago? But I was fascinated then and have remembered the book ever since. The book started my life-long interest in French culture and history. Reading Desirée now reinforces my interest. I doubt most 7th graders today will react as I did, but it is more interesting and informative as a work of historical fiction than when I was 12..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-7786385338087616812022-07-07T16:16:26.452+02:002022-07-07T16:16:26.452+02:00balla cat...........luck cat
balla cat...........luck catCatfudshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16544523004304677391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-57055860147382084242022-05-13T17:34:51.628+02:002022-05-13T17:34:51.628+02:00Question still remains was there ever such a paint...Question still remains was there ever such a paintingAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-3811661664877518922022-05-13T08:16:13.049+02:002022-05-13T08:16:13.049+02:00What a great review. So many deaths!

I am both enthralled and disgusted with Murdock's novel. I'm disgusted by Gerald, a man who, by the end of the books, appears to personify evil. What particularly disgusted me was the way in which Gerald debauched a young boy while his sister sat idly by.

With all this being said, The Unicorn is my favorite Murdoch novel, and I view it primarily as a morality play that explores the forces of good and evil.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11424804193653512130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-9402202816017227912021-11-24T21:14:54.346+01:002021-11-24T21:14:54.346+01:00The last word of line 5 is given in my copy as wak...The last word of line 5 is given in my copy as waking, not walking.

David Bisset Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199840111344535056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-68380595818747746572021-10-26T00:09:34.943+02:002021-10-26T00:09:34.943+02:00Monique is a gem. I think you summarized it in a very clear way, as one can easily drown in Undset's sympathy for her characters. Much like the WWII film 'Come and See', these stories are so hard to take, because the creator doesn't allow you to be a disinterested God dissecting the psychology of the characters and clucking your tongue at their foolishness. She traps you in the mind of whichever character is the focus of her limited omniscience, giving you such a vivid experience that you won't emerged unscarred. Love it and recommend it!Jacobitesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03723557335968316270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322995747669796194.post-77746967071533846752020-12-05T21:18:21.148+01:002020-12-05T21:18:21.148+01:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08730972023871438600noreply@blogger.com
